Shangrilla Resort Skardu is a famous resort and natural attraction built around Lower Kachura Lake a beautiful high-altitude lake also known as Shangrilla Lake because of the resort itself. It was established in 1983 and is often called “Heaven on Earth” due to its incredible scenery and peaceful ambiance. The resort was founded by Brigadier Muhammad Aslam Khan, and since then has become one of the oldest and most visited tourist spots in the northern areas of Pakistan. The resort surrounds Lower Kachura Lake, a natural glacial lake at about 2,500 m elevation with crystal-clear water and reflections of the surrounding mountains.
